American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care
Students

Are you a veterinary student? What is your passion?

Do you find yourself invigorated by life-saving circumstances? Do you want to use your multidisciplinary skillset to diagnose and treat patients with acute illness? Maybe a career in emergency and critical care medicine is for you! Residency training and specialty board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care will challenge you to push the limits of resuscitation and acute care medicine.

The first step is to join the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (SVECCS) and get your feet wet with skills labs, continuing education opportunities, and networking with likeminded students, house officers, and faculty. Speak to your local SVECCS representative, or check out their website at www.sveccs.org

The second step is to work directly with ACVECC diplomates - consider doing an externship. You can find more information on the National SCVECCS externships available here.
